Maran Wolston

Hi! My name is Maran. I started rowing with the club last year, after four long years of erging at home, beginning in March 2020. I erged over four million meters during those years, participating in Concept2's super fun challenges, fundraisers, etc., meanwhile I tried without luck to get into LTR. Eventually I did and I was SO HAPPY. I'm very proud of this amazing club and am honored to serve as a captain this year. In addition to being a member of this lovely community I'm also a philosophy teacher at MCTC, prison education advocate, potter, partner, and spend lots of time with my wonderful Great Dane, Lou. I prefer they/them pronouns but she/her is okay, too.
Isaac Bandy

Hi! I’m Isaac. This is my second year on the Green team after joining MRC in 2023 as a novice. I was more of an athlete in high school, and since then have used an erg to try and stay in shape, although when I joined the club I had to look up what ‘erg’ meant, as I had previously known them only as rowing machines! Anyway, after a few walks over the bridges and seeing boats on the river underneath, my wife encouraged me to look into getting into actual rowing, and now I’m hooked. It’s been a joy getting to know a larger community of great people, and a privilege to be a captain of the team this year. My day (/night/whenever) job is in motorsport engineering, which keeps me on my toes and has taught me how to react well under pressure. I live across the river from the boathouse with my wife and 2 daughters, and our (i.e. their) 2 cats.
